Let me start by introducing myself and why I started High Mountain Hunts. My name is Nick Maragas, and I have been an avid outdoorsman since I was old enough to hold a fishing pole. As a child, I fished exclusively and then transitioned into hunting as a teenager. From there, I have expanded my pursuit of animals ranging from mountain goats in Alaska to moose in New Foundland. With these experiences, I gained appreciation for all aspects of a great hunting adventure. Using my background in the hospitality industry and combining my likes and dislikes of my guided hunting experiences, I branched out, combined multiple hunting outfitters, and started my journey to create a memorable hunt for you. Whether we are stalking elk, mule deer, or bear with a rifle, muzzleloader, or bow, my goal is to provide you with an upfront and honest opportunity to enjoy a hunt in the San Juan Mountains in Southern Colorado. I want you to feel fundamental to the success of your hunt from the initial days of scouting prior to carrying a weapon to the final day of quartering and packing your animal out. I look forward to helping plan your trip.
In my next blog: People often ask when the best time is to come hunting. I will discuss the different seasons so that you can make an informed decision that will ensure you get the experience that you are looking for.
